Case study: Hymavathi
Hymavathi had to deal with a cleft lip for 20 years. She couldn't go to school and did not have any friends. Her parents didn't know what to do, especially when once their daughter reached marrying age. They could not afford the costs for an operation. In their despair they turned to a local health centre whose doctor had heard about our cleft centre in Hyderabad. The doctor got in touch and just two days later Hymavathi was operated on. Her parents could hardly believe their eyes when they saw their daughter for the first time with her new face! Within just a short space of time, the previously disfigured girl has become a happy, self-confident young woman. Hymavathi plans to marry soon.
Case study: Saikumar
The little Saikumar is 10 years old. He was born with a cleft lip and palate. His father is a poor rickshaw driver who has absolutely no chance of affording medical treatment.
