My vision for cleft-children
Prof. Sailer's big goal: to give cleft-children a good future.
"My vision, as an oral-facial specialist, is to turn a face with a disfigurement not only into a normal one, but into an especially attractive face - and in so doing prevent cleft-children from suffering the fate of social marginalisation and lifelong physical pain. Instead I want to give them the gift of a normal life and a happy future."
Speech held by Prof. Sailer for donators
The founder of our charity, the central personality within our organisation, is Professor Dr. med., Dr. med. dent., Dr. med. h.c. mult., Dr. sc. h.c. mult. Hermann F. Sailer. He has the vision to, as he put it, "help millions of people with congenital facial disfigurement in developing and threshold countries to have a more human appearance and help them integrate into society."
Help millions of people with congenital facial disfigurement in developing and threshold countries to have a more human appearance.
For Professor Sailer this is a means of contributing towards harmonising the differences and the injustices of this world. It is a commitment to a happier life for people who, because of their looks, are subject to prejudice, to never experience care and love. Prof. Sailer says:" It would be nice if one could give this world the gift of peace through an operation."
