On September 1^st, 2011 Rumanian cleft surgeon Dr. Florin Urtila of Timisoara started a three month – work shadowing in two of our Indian Cleft-Centers. His first stop was the Cleft - Center in Chennai. There, Dr. Urtila had the chance to work alongside our director Prof. Dr. Ramanathan Manikandhan. He assisted in operations and attended inner-center processes in order to improve his cleft-surgical knowledge. Dr. Urtila: "It is a very special experience to work alongside such an experienced surgeon." On September 24^th, 2011 he, then, travelled to Hyderabad where he will assist in other operations under supervision of Dr. Gosla Reddy in order to operate independently at the end of his stay (but still under supervision). Dr. Urtila: "I feel I am in very good hands and I have already benefitted very much from my stay."

 

Dr. Urtila will continue to keep us up to date on his experiences and progress in the Hyderabad Cleft - Center.
